You got good at the food.

Nobody taught you the rest.

You walked that floor today. 58,000 people in this industry.

Most of them are carrying the same thing you are — a team that needs more than anyone ever taught you to give. That gap is real. It costs you every single week. And it is exactly what I built The Leadership Chef to close.

Two ways in. Both lead to the same place.

You already know this

They trained you to cook.
Nobody trained you to lead.

This industry taught you the operation. The product. The standards. The craft. Nobody ever sat you down and taught you how to lead the people standing next to you. You just figured it out. Made your mistakes in front of your team. Learned to hold things together by sheer force of will.

Y'all are carrying the same weight. The turnover that doesn't stop. The person you promoted who's quietly drowning. The manager who's technically doing the job and everybody knows something's off. The team that runs fine when you're there and falls apart the minute you step away.

“The gap between operational skill and leadership ability is the most expensive problem in this industry. And almost nobody is talking about it.”

I talk about it. That's the whole thing. The Leadership Chef exists because this industry promotes talent and hands people nothing. No playbook. No framework. No development. Just a title and a team and the expectation that you'll figure the rest out.

You've been figuring it out. Now let's get intentional about it.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF

One of these is sitting on your team right now.

01

The person you can't afford to lose

Talented. Reliable. Right now quietly deciding whether this job is still worth their best effort. You've been meaning to have that conversation. You keep not having it.

02

The manager you promoted too fast

Your best operator is now in charge of people and struggling under the weight of a job they were never trained for. You did this with the best intentions. It's costing you both.

03

The revolving door you can't stop

Same position. Different face. Third time this year. You've told yourself it's the market, the generation, the economy. Something else is going on and you know it.

04

The ceiling you can't name

You're showing up. You're doing the work. You're competent in every room. And something is holding your growth back that you still can't put your finger on.

Two doors. One destination.

15 Invaluable Laws
of Growth Live

A free live session I host every two weeks built around two laws that will change the way you think about your growth as a leader. The Law of Pain — good management of bad experiences leads to great growth. The Law of the Rubber Band — growth stops the moment you lose the tension between where you are and where you could be.

One hour. One law. One action step you carry back into your operation the same day. I host and facilitate this personally every time.

  • Live and free every two weeks

  • Facilitated personally by Justin every session

  • One law. One action step. No fluff.

  • Virtual — join from anywhere

RESET

Five videos. One lesson per video. One action step per video. That is it.

You don't need more information. You need to decide.

Maxwell Leadership

20+ years in the industry.
Every level. Every lesson.

Born and raised in Rockingham County, North Carolina. I've spent the better part of my adult life leading teams across hospitality, foodservice, and food retail in some of the most demanding operations in this country.

I made every leadership mistake in the book. Held people to standards I never explained. Promoted my best people and watched them drown. Confused being in control with being trusted. Worked harder than everybody in the room and still couldn't figure out why the team wasn't moving.

The day I started studying leadership the same way I studied culinary technique — seriously, from people who knew what they were doing — everything changed. I got certified as a Maxwell Leadership Coach. I became a DISC Consultant. I got licensed to facilitate the 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth.

This is twenty years of hard lessons made into something you can actually use.

One question worth asking

There's someone on your team
watching what you do next.

Y'all walked a lot of floors today. Shook a lot of hands. Most of it's forgotten by Tuesday.

Pick your starting point. Start tonight.

I built this for the hospitality leader who got promoted and got handed nothing. You earned the title. Let’s make sure you earn the team.
